Group work on unsafe behaviours

Review Joslin’s story.

Working in groups examine the story and list any potentially unsafe behaviours displayed by Joslin or any of the other characters in the story. Discuss all of the possible unsafe behaviours as a whole class.


Each group in the class should then focus on one of the unsafe behaviours that have been identified.

  • Identify why the behaviours might be unsafe.

  • Discuss the possible consequences of the chosen behaviour.

  • Develop a range of strategies to reduce the possibility of harm associated with that behaviour.

  • Write the strategies and possible consequences on a poster and display them around the classroom. Review the posters around the room and add an idea to each group’s poster.
